![]() Jeff Beck brought Jazzrock to the masses. A really great guitarist. I
have tested many HTML editors along the way, to be able to do this
webzine. Last
monthīs pic, if you missed it. (click for bigger version) If
you want to read some of my earlier News headlines, you can visit
my "Backup"- page. Thatīs my garbage collection
section. Iīve been told to not throw everything away at once. Talking about
something completely different: I just noticed that "Betanews"
has a totally new layout. I recommended that site earlier. Check it
out to see for yourself. Still interesting ;)

2000-08-06 I have not brought you many news lately. Thereīs so much other things in life than updating, Iīm sure you know...Fun though, to see that my "news" below was such a hit ! Napster is massmedias darling today, and has been named the net:s first killer-app since the first Mosaic browser. RIAA is scared to death and fights furiously in the courtroom. Iīm afraid Iīm not able to name the next killer app today, but I guess webpads with large miniature harddrives for mp3:s and built in mobile-phones plus wireless docking with PC:s and each other is the next big thing... SeeYa/Per 2000-03-12 Hope you havenīt missed the fuzz about "Napster". Napster is a small piece of software which allows users to exchange mp3:s directly between their computers, instead of visiting a big software archive. The software makes it possible for a user to allow one of his/hers folders on his/hers harddrive to be accessible by other surfers while surfing the web oneself. The user will fill that particular folder with ones favorite mp3:s for others to get at, while at the same time have all other current folders online at ones disposal for download(usually about 20000 users at the same occasion). The record companies hates this invention, and have sued the young 19 year of age inventor for billions of dollars. I really hope the courts turn for freedom of speech on this one. I seriously recommend you to download and use this piece of software, not only as a way of support but just for itīs great. It even has a built in mp3 player of very good quality for quick, easy listening at ones prey. You will find it at http://www.napster.com, I hope itīs still there.... 2000-01-08 Latest news is that "Real" have let Real Player 7 (RP 8 is out now) reach "final" stage, and that Real Jukebox is updated so that you can record Music-CD:s from directly within Jukebox. Another
issue for me is that, now when I have started to use a slightly more
advanced layout at my site, I really have discovered how annoying
it is that Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer doesnīt
support the same design elements. I use IE 5.5, but to my surprise, in
some areas Navigator do support more advanced design elements. In others
donīt. And those shouting at W3C organisation
for help, I really donīt know, their reference browser "Amaya" makes most
web-pages collapse totally. Unless theyīre really simple. Mabe Microsofts
attempts to rule the world arenīt entirely bad. But then again, nothing
is entirely bad.
I
made this Newspage evidently to inform about whatīs going on. Lately
my doings has been mostly focused around the choice of what New OS:s to
use at ones desktop, to be really productive. Iīve tried Windows 2000,
BeOS 4.5, SuSE Linux 6.2, Red Hat Linux 6.1 and can only confirm that
Windows 95/98 wins a knockout victory for almost ALL desktop use. No hard
seeing why the US government worries about monopoly. (P.S. Windows Millennium
is great, buy it ! As for Linux: choose Mandrake 7.1 and be sure to install
all updates including the kernel and youīve got a killer OS...D.S.) Inside
views from the developers arena can be found at:
