My site

Welcome to DISTORT webzine, a cool site about guitarplaying and computers
Beta 1.5.6 Updated 2000-01-02 Đ Per Johansson 2000

I have kept this old page to look at, just to be able to see whatīs happening.
Cool. Isnīt it ?

am I buggy ?I have been busy bugfixing my site lately, not much time for other doings.

On top of that I have included a new
"Message Board" , made my own guestbook ( instead of an offsite service ) and equipped my site with a search and indexing engine ( learns me a lot about meta information and leading text blocks, really have to improve that ).
I think Iīm now a little bit better off presenting my information, but further improvements are close to seeing the light of day
.
Browse me and have fun/Per.

See to it that you donīt miss out on the special January issue of the UK paper magazine "PC Plus", as it features a cover DVD full with really great software (8-9Gb!), of course you need a DVD-RAM to benefit from this offer. The prices are creeping downwards rapidly on those hardware parts though, and as it replaces your CD-ROM and is more futureproof plus can be used for watching movies on screen or on TV, itīs a must to buy. PC Plus can be found on the web at: www.pcplus.co.uk

Congratulations, youīve made it to my site. Iīm a Swedish progmetal guitarist owning a computerized home studio for recording my work. I play a black Fender Stratocaster, and all sorts of things that can be created in the computer through my keyboard with software synthesizers and samplers. As Iīm about making songs from now and then, I intend to use this site for publishing some of them. Additionally I will tell stories about good and bad things that happens along the way ( mabe I can guide some of those who has lesser luck with their equipment ? ). If youīre the least interested in such matters, start browsing my site now, otherwise I have some cool links that might fit anyone at my "bands"-page.

By the way: while your busy examining 3dfx site; I noticed some new drivers for Voodoo Banshee. They are now optimized for Direct X 7.0. I tried them of course, and to my surprise: they rendered Windows 2000 graphics performance under Windows 95 ! Donīt forget that you must install Microsofts Direct X 7.0 AFTER the driver install.

Thereīs lotīs of other stuff thatīs really interests me. They are not related to this site in any particular way, so I wonīt mention them here.

But Iīm known to be sort of multitalented, I never liked to bang my head against just one thing only to be the best.

If you wanīt to find out more, you just have to get to know me. Start by using my e-mail adress

mesa boogie and gibson 335 WOW

A Mesa Boogie and a Gibson ES335, nice...

Internet Explorer 5.01 is finally here ( same version that comes with Windows 2000 RC2 ). Iīm busy downloading it right now ( got it ! itīs FAST ), as it will probably affect the performance of my whole OS positively ( tight integration, legal issues etc. you know ). Read more about it at http://updates.zdnet.com

News is that 3dfx is soon to release Voodoo 4 and Voodoo 5, much interesting as they will feature even higher speed plus from 32Mb onboard memory up to 128Mb onboard memory. They will also come in both AGP and PCI flavors ( last ultimate boost for your old PC ). Reports also tell that they will be able to handle full 32bit color during gaming, and that most of the lightning and graphics effects missing in Voodoo 3 will be there. More at 3dfx site

Some sample interests:

I made these pages as a casual creation in my spare hours, yet I hope to make it meaningful in some way. Since I begun this sitebuilding project a year ago(1998); I think my creation actually have started to take on some shape. I donīt have time for any serious coding though and noone to learn from or throw ideas back and forth with ( mabe you could come to my rescue here ), so this will remain a lightweight project as far as I can see.

See Ya/Per
