Where
my mind was 2000-01-07... Welcome back to my site ! Iīve
made the first really big layout update in a while. A major overhaul.
Usually I pick page by page for updating, now I have had a look at my
whole site. Another issue is that Iīve tried to make the layout more consistent, even though the different pages have quite different histories behind them. I donīt have time to rewrite everything, so my content is still mostly the same. This whole operation would have been really tiresome if it wasnīt for my extensive use of Macromedias new "Dreamweaver 3" HTML-editing software. I love it more and more, the more I use it. Itīs way more easier to change a page layout with this tool, than with any other I know. Iīve repeated it before, but once again: if youīre into making your own web-site - buy "Dreamweaver 3", or even one of the earlier versions if you find them cheaply. "Dreamweaver 3" is more stable though, than the others. Just had one crash during this layout-change at my site, and that was after Windows 98 had been on for more than 3 days ( we all know that ainīt healthy for Windows ). Is there anything else going on at Pers home ? Yes, recently I installed most parts of Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 (SP-3) on my computer, itīs very fun to investigate. At the moment Iīm deep down finding out what can be done with Visual C++ 6.0. Iīve only used Borlands (Inprise) programming tools earlier ( Delphi 3.0 is very good ), so itīs exciting to see what can be done with Microsofts alternative ( after all, itīs their Windows, and Windows was written with these tools ). Of course, Visual Basic 6.0 is very attractive to program with as it is probably the easiest tool on the market and spins of side knowledge applicable in VBA, but I donīt have a licensed compiler for Visual Basic. Just the "Working Model" edition, and that sort of turns one off. On the other hand, I have plenty of different fully working compilers for C++, so thatīs why my interest is mostly directed that way. Of course one wanītīs to make REAL programs, that works outside an programming IDE. The thought have arised, to eventually produce some game-demo. I have plenty of graphics and 3D-tools at my disposal. Weīll see. more old writing by Per: 2000-01-021999-12-261999-12-181999-12-111999-12-03(
